Day 13-Saturday, January 18th

I really felt great today. My eating habits are almost second nature to me now. I was commenting to a friend how I like the constraints of the whole 30. It really helps me focus when I am planning meals, and when I go to the grocery store, I know exactly what I need. I'm feeling more creative with the ingredients I have to work with. It's pretty awesome to learn to prepare meals with a limited number of foods that you KNOW are really good for you.

Here's what I ate:

Breakfast: apples and banana slices with cashew butter and unsweetened coconut flakes. This was so, so good. I woke up late today and was starving, and we were all out of eggs. This kept me satisfied until lunch.

Lunch: salad greens, clementine, cole slaw blend, mixed raw nuts and raisins, coconut flakes (again!) and balsamic and oil dressing.

Dinner: Adellis chicken sausage, roasted butternut squash, and mixed vegetables. The butternut squash was absolutely divine. I roasted it with coconut oil and pumpkin pie spice. This whole meal tasted like fall.

I found some interesting tea, it's chocolate chai. I haven't tried it yet, but I thought it would be delicious with a little coconut milk! Hopefully I'm right.
Speaking of coconut milk, my local stop and shop sells canned organic coconut milk that is really good. I've tried a few, and the winner is definitely this one. I also like the traders joe's canned light coconut milk for my coffee.

Tomorrow is Sunday! I'm planning spaghetti squash with a nice meat sauce for dinner.
